Miss Seely Bride
St. Elisabeth’s Church, Elizabethtown, was the scene on Saturday, Jan. 24, of the wedding of Miss Marian J. Seely, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Seely of Elizabethtown, and Thomas F. Quinlan, son of Mrs. John J. Quinlan of Lake Bomoseen, Vt., and the late Mr. Quinlan. Rev. Edwin H. McCarthy was the officiating clergyman.
Miss Joan Seely was her sister’s maid of honor and Farrell J. Quinlan served as best man for his brother. The bridesmaids were Misses Joyce Gilbert of Elizabethtown and Shirley Sanders of Peru.
The bride wore a white satin gown with an illusion neckline edged with beading and long sleeves. The full skirt had an insert of lace forming a front panel and her imported illusion veil was attached to a lace headpiece trimmed with pearls. She carried white roses centered with an orchid.
The attendants wore taffeta gowns with illusion necklines and full skirts with a cascade of ruffles down the back. The honor attendant’s gown was of rose and the bridesmaid’s gowns were of hunter green. They wore satin headpieces trimmed with feathers to match their gowns, and matching mitts. The maid of honor carried pink and blue carnations and the bridesmaids carried bronze pompons.
A reception followed at the Elizabethtown Social Center after which the couple left by motor for the South. They will reside at Lake Waramang, Conn. The bride is a graduate of the College of St. Rose, Albany, and Mr. Quinlan was graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Albany Law School. He is a veteran of World War II and is manager and part owner of the Loomarwich Hotel, New Preston, Conn.
Among the guests attending were Miss Patricia Morgan of Melgrose and Miss Rita Morrison of Watervliet.
