Miss June Elizabeth Seeley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey D. Seeley, 317 North Second Street, became the bride of William A. Woodfill, son of Raymond Woodfill Friday afternoon.
The ceremony was performed at three o’clock at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Shields T. Hardin, pastor, before an altar banked with chrysanthemums, mums and palms, and flanked with tall candelabra.
Traditional wedding music was played, including Liszt’s “Liberstraum” by Mrs. Edith Dorr McLarney, organist.
The attendants were Mrs. V.H. Dorrian, matron of honor, and V.H. Dorrian, best man, Eldred, Pa.
The bride’s costume was a suit of blue with matching hat and accessories. Her corsage was of gardenias. The attendant’s flowers were tea roses and babies breath.
Following the ceremony a reception for forty guests was held at the home of the bride. Bouquets of chrysanthemums were used effectively throughout the house for decoration.
The couple left for a short wedding trip and on their return will reside for the present at 317 North Second Street.
The bride is a graduate of the Olean High School, Westbrook Commercial Academy and Bob Jones College, Tenn.
The groom attended Port Allegany High School. He was recently discharged at Fort Dix., N.J., after serving with the 168th Army Engineers. Entering service in March 1941, he was later sent overseas and participated in the Battle of Ardennes and the Rhineland. He holds the American Defense Service Medal; American Service Medal; European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and Victory Medal.
