MISS LOIS RYAN WEDS H.A. SEELY
Ceremony Held Wednesday Afternoon in Forestgrove Church
GROOM HEADS SCHOOLS
The Forestgrove church was the scene of a very pretty wedding when more than 200 guests saw Miss Lois Ryan, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Ryan, Forestgrove, became the bride of Harold A. Seely, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Seely, of Shamokin, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon, August 31, at 4 o’clock daylight saving time. Rev. J.P. Martin, pastor of the church, performed the ceremony.
The wedding march was played by Miss Ruth Rockafellow. Previous to the wedding, a musicale program was rendered by Miss Ruth Rockafellow on the pipe organ.
The bride’s father, a well-known lumber dealer in this section, gave her in marriage and she was attended by her sister, Jennie Ryan, as maid of honor. Leigh S. Ryan, brother of the bride, was best man. The ushers were Frank Stultz, of Doylestown, and Leigh S. Ryan, of Forestgrove.
The beautiful wedding gown worn by the bride was of white chiffon. The bridal veil of tulle had a cornet of lace held by a wreath of orange blossoms. The bride carried a shower bouquet of white rose buds and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor was gowned in white taffeta shading into pink and sunset with a picture hat and white satin painted slippers to match the dress. She carried a bouquet of baby’s breath and dahlias.
The bride is a graduate of Doylestown High School and Swarthmore College, where she received the degree of A.B. She is one of Lower Buckingham township’s popular ladies. The groom is a graduate of Dickinson College, where he received the degree of Ph. D. and the University of Pennsylvania, where he received the degree of M.A. He was also a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at Dickinson, and is a young man highly respected.
The bride and bridegroom have been teachings in the Doylestown High School. After an extended wedding trip, the couple will reside in Churchville. Mr. Seely has accepted a position as supervising principal of the Southampton schools.
