Miss Seeley Becomes Bride Of Lieutenant

Ceremony Performed Yesterday Afternoon

The Congregational Christian Church, Wakefield, was the scene of a wedding yesterday afternoon when Miss Eva Joy Seeley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clifton Seeley, of Waverly, became the bride of Lieutenant Rodney James Kelley, United States Army Air Forces, son of Mrs. Elizabeth C. Kelley and the late Major-General Lawrence J. Kelley, of Alvany, N.Y., and Bennington, Vt.  The 4 o’clock ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Lee House, pastor of First Congregational Christian Church, Richmond, assisted by the Rev. Carroll H. Beale, pastor of Congregational Christian Church, Wakefield.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a wedding dress of white satin fashioned with a tight-fitting bodice, sweetheart neckline, the yoke of which was edged with Chantilly lace and the full-gathered skirt, topped with a peplum of the same lace, ended in a full circular train, with sleeves ending in points over the hands.  Her fingertip veil of imported illusion fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried a Colonial bouquet of white roses.

Miss Ilene Cary, of Richmond and Staunton, was maid of honor and wore a dress of champagne pink taffeta, fashioned with a tight-fitting bodice and ruffles forming an off-the-shoulder effect, and a full-gathered skirt.  She carried a Colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.  Miss Ruth Markus and Miss Evelyn Drennan, both of Richmond, were the bridesmaids.  They wore ice-blue taffeta dresses fashioned after that of the maid of honor and also carried Colonial bouquets of mixed flowers.

Lieutenant Kelley had as his best man Major Robert Stubbs, of Charlotte, N.C.  The ushers were John L. Seeley, brother of the bride, and Captain Henry C. Franklin, of Fredericksburg.

Master Ralph Seeley, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.  Ralph Seeley, of Wakefield, and cousin of the bride, was the ringbearer.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride, after which the couple left for a trip to Maine and Canada.

Upon their return, Lieutenant and Mrs. Kelley will make their home in Greenville, S.C., where the bridegroom is stationed with Headquarters, Ninth Air Force.
