Grace St. Andrew’s United Church in Arnprior was the scene of the recent wedding of Mis Margaret Esther McLachlin and Mr. Clair Bennet Seeley. The bride is the twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Norman McLachlin, of Arnprior, and Mr. Seeley is the only son of Mr. Howard Seeley and the late Mrs. Seeley.

Rev. D.H. Woodhouse officiated and mauve and yellow gladioli and ferns were used in decoration. Mr. A.A. Bennie, of Picton, played the organ music and accompanied the soloist, Mr. Gary Wilson of Renfrew, who sang “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Miss June Storie, of Arnprior, and Miss Evelyn Loveies, of Ottawa, and by the bride’s sister, Miss Mary Ellen McLachlin, as junior bridesmaid.

Mr. Jay Lockerbie, of Kingston was best man for his cousin and the ushers were Mr. Don Shaver, Avonmore; Mr. Allen Drew, Montreal; the bride’s twin brother, Mr. George McLachlin, of Sarnia, and Mr. Leonard Baird, of Ottawa.

The bride wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin. The fitted bodice of lace had long sleeves tapering to lily points over the hands. The skirt was of nylon net with wide panels of Chantilly lace. A coronet headdress held her fingertip veil, and her bouquet was of deep red roses and stephanotis.

A reception was held at the bride’s home, after which Mr. and Mrs. Seeley left for a honeymoon trip to the Maritimes. Going away the bride wore a painted nylon dress in red and white with a white cashmere stole, and a corsage bouquet of red carnations. They will reside in Renfrew.
