Wilma L. Houge, 88, Huron, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at Bryant with the Rev. Renee Tecklenburg officiating.

Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Bryant.

Visitation will be in the Kuhler Funeral Home Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Wilma LaVera Seeley was born July 17, 1922, at home in Iona to Earl and Anna (Tagtow) Seeley. She attended Lewis 36 School. Before moving with her family to Bryant in 1942, she did housework for a family and worked at the hospital in Chamberlain.

She married Quentin Houge Nov. 26, 1944, in Hayti. They lived in Bryant and on farms in the Bryant, Vienna and Willow Lake areas. When they retired in 1983, they moved De Smet. She moved to Huron shortly after her husband’s death Jan. 6, 2003. After a few years, she returned to De Smet. In May of 2010, she moved to an assisted living apartment in Huron. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.

As a young person, she was a member of the Methodist Church Youth and the Happy-Go-Lucky 4-H Club. She earned many ribbons for her sewing.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (David) Davidson of Woonsocket and Erlene Harty of De Smet; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters: two stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Jessie Haug of Willow Lake and Marie Hanson of Madison.
