Virginia K. Bohnenblust, 88, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died March 16, 2015, at Davis Hospice Center.

She was born November 15, 1926, in Beloit, KS, to Ray and Alice Seely. She married Kenneth E. Bohnenblust on July 1, 1945, in Wichita, KS. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Virginia was raised in Asherville, KS, with her sister, Dorothy, and brother, Harold. After marrying, she worked in various jobs, including running a telephone exchange and helping operate the family farm. She supported Ken and the family when he returned to college and earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. She worked many years for the U.S. Forest Service, and later at the University of Wyoming in the College of Education and the American Heritage Center. While living in Laramie, she was an active member of United Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and served as a deacon, providing support for shut-ins. Virginia loved singing and playing the piano, reading, keeping up on current events, traveling, and spending time with family. She was a proud breast cancer survivor and selflessly served as Ken’s caregiver for many years as his multiple sclerosis progressed.

She is survived by her children Kevin (Mary Kay) Bohnenblust of Cheyenne, and Doug (Felicia Moss) Bohnenblust of Sheridan; grandchildren, Dan Fetsco, Caitlin (Grant) Bohnenblust Campbell and Kelly Bohnenblust; great grandson, Jackson Fetsco; and son-in-law, Pete Fetsco.
