Theresa M. “Althea” Wilson, 92, formerly of 78 Lovall Ave., died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2002) in the Lutheran Retirement Home.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Feb. 19, 1910, in Randolph, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Seeley.
In earlier years she was active with the Bethel Baptist Church and most recently was a member of the Jamestown Community Chapel for several years.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking for her family. She was also very appreciative for the care and concern of Dr. John LaMancuso over the past several years.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra S. Wright of Jamestown; a son, Robert O. Wilson of Toronto, Canada; six grandchildren: Robert O. Wilson Jr. of Atlanta, Laura Hayes of Rochester, David Wilson of Holland, Mich., Andrew Wilson of Toronto, Tami Trusler and Jordan Wright, both of Jamestown; and a sister Evelyn Olson of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Wilson, whom she married Nov. 10, 1934, and who died June 19, 1982; a sister Olieta White; and a step-sister, Leanna Colburn.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, chaplain of Lutheran Social Services, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
