Beacon – Ruth E. Robillard, a lifelong resident of Beacon, passed away peacefully on November 25 at home surrounded by her family. She was 59 years old.
Ruth was born on February 12, 1960 the daughter of Don and Barbara Seeley. Ruth married the love of her life and true companion, Peter Robillard on June 14, 1980. Peter survives at home.
Along with Peter, Ruth co-owned Roby’s Deli in Beacon. She had a true gift of being able to connect and talk with people. Everywhere she went, Ruth knew someone to talk to. She was a member of the Southern Dutchess Country Club.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her children, Peter Robillard, II and his wife, Heather and Gina Mercer; her granddaughters, Gianna and Mariah Mercer; her sisters, Annmarie McCollum and husband, Kim, Janet Morgan and husband, Mike, Maribeth McDowell and husband, Steven and Karen Perry and husband, Brian; her brother, Donald Seeley and wife, Liz; her brothers-in-law, Geoffrey Robillard, Mark Robillard and wife, MaryEllen and Steven Robillard and wife, Marie; her sister-in-law, Amy Robillard; her numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Buddy.
A private memorial service for family is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Ruth may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Patrick J. Halvey of Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, LLC.
