Pearl M. Olds was born in Saticoy, CA on August 4, 1904 to Charles and Virginia Seeley, and passed away April 6, 2007 at The Hallmark at Bakersfield. Pearl moved to Kern County at the age of three and resided in the Woody-Glennville area. She married Orrin Olds from Bishop, CA in 1924 and spent most of her married life working on the Carver Bowen Ranch in Glennville where they raised five children. Pearl enjoyed life and had a great love of gardening with beautiful flowers and great vegetables. She was very musical and would dance every chance she got and could play the piano by ear. Pearl never met a stranger and was a great caregiver with a very generous heart for all. Pearl was a member of the Neighborhood Club and Sewing Circle, the Women’s Auxiliary of the Greenhorn Mountain Veterans Association, and the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orrin; son, Jack Olds; sister, Della Boynton; and brothers, Henry Seeley, Ernest Seeley, and Reed Seeley. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Frances Olds of Granite Station; three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Hill and husband, Fred of Terra Bella, Wanda Malone and husband, Stanley of Upland, and Kathy Mettler and husband, Fred of Bakersfield; fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ellen Seeley of Bakersfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Hallmark at Bakersfield, where she was a resident for the last couple of years, and Hoffmann Hospice for all of their care and assistance. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woody Cemetery, P.O. Box 2, Woody, CA 93287 or Hoffmann Hospice.
