Muskegon Patsy J. Fry, age 83, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, August 26, 2018. She was born December 10, 1934 in McBain, MI to Orval and Reo (DuVall) Seelye. Patsy received her Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University and was a teacher and reading specialist at Orchard View for 28 years prior to her retirement in 1988. On December 25, 1954, she married Charles R. Fry, the love of her life, in Cadillac, MI and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2014. Patsy was a passionate member of The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, where she and Dick led the Marvelous Monday’s Group, many Bible studies, taught Sunday school, played the piano, and was also active in Gideon’s International. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, music, traveling, reading, and decorating cakes. Patsy also loved to study scripture and spend time with her family. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Dennese (David) DeYoung of Muskegon, Mark Fry of Spring Lake; 6 grandchildren: Philip DeYoung, Andrew (Kaitlyn) DeYoung, Marissa DeYoung, Leah (Steve) Serra, Marcus Fry, Chancellor Fry; 2 great-grandchildren: Charlotte DeYoung and Matthew Serra; 2 brothers: Douglas (Joyce) Seelye of Lake City, MI, Calvin (Beverly) Seelye of Cadillac, MI; 2 sisters: Juanita Vander Vlught of Cadillac, MI, Dorothy Nystrom of Grand Rapids, MI; 2 brothers-in-law: Don (Delsie) Fry and Tom (Betty) Fry both of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Violet Evans; and brother-in-law, Albert Fry. SERVICES for Patsy will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene Eastwood Campus (2270 S. Mill Iron Rd., Muskegon, MI 49442) with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene or Gideon’s International will be appreciated.
