ALLEN FUNERAL

HONEY GROVE (Special) – Last rites were conducted form Mrs. H.P. Allen, Friday afternoon at Main Street Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Edgar H. Graham, former pastor, and interment in Oakwood Cemetery was made by Jones and Brumit, funeral directors. Pallbearers were Richard McCleary, Joe Wise, Henry Dickson, Louis Brode, Roy Collard and Dr. Harvey B. Savage of Denison.

Mrs. Allen died Wednesday in Brenham at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.P. Walker where she had spent the past two months. Born in Paola, Kan., March 8, 1871, daughter of the late John and May Seely, she was formerly Miss Olive May Seely. When she was 12 years old; they moved to Rocky Ford, Colo., and ever since her marriage to the late H.P. (Porter) Allen, April 21, 1893, she had lived here just east of town. Mr. Allen died March 18. 1939.

Mrs. Allen leaves two children, Mrs. Edna Allen Walker, Brenham, and John Porter Allen, Uvalde; two grandchildren; these stepchildren, who she reared: Henry Allen and Walter Allen, Honey Grove; Luther Allen, Hugo, Okla; Mrs. Thommie Leatherwood, Itasca, and Mrs. Lutie Bunkley, Stamford, and these brothers and sisters: D.H. Seely and Charles Seely, Rocky Ford, Colo.; Mrs. J.C. Tremblay, Pueblo, Colo.; and Mrs. George Daring, Leon, Kan.

Here besides the children to attend the services were John Fetter, Lubbock; William Avary, New Boston; Dr. E.P. Bunkley, Stamford, and George Leatherwood, Itasca.
