NAOMI MARIE STROUD, 89, of Comanche, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006, in Meridian Nursing Home in Comanche. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche with the Rev. Rusty Canoy officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Naomi was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Alma, to Clarence and Josie Morrison Seely. She was raised and attended school at Alma. She and Verney Stroud were married Aug. 4, 1934, in Duncan. They made their home in Comanche and raised three children there. Verney preceded her in death July 17, 1987.She worked as a cook at various restaurants; also at the Bowling Alley and Plato Manor-Duncan Care Center. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering and crocheting. Survivors include a son, Jerry Lynn Stroud of Duncan; two daughters, Geneva Landers and her husband Dale of Duncan, and Shirley Forsythe and her husband Richard of Comanche; a brother, Orville Seely and his wife Lillie Faye of Ackerly, Texas; a sister-in-law, Sue Seely of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
