TRAVERSE CITY – Naomi Mae Seelye Bolin, a resident of Traverse City during the nineteen eighties and nineties, quietly passed away on July 20, 2004, in New Rochelle, N.Y. Naomi, born in Flint, on May 1, 1913, was the first child of Lloyd Merlin Seelye and Mae Campbell.

Naomi spent most of her life in Michigan working as a homemaker, mother, registered nurse and school nurse. She held a bachelor’s degree in public health from The University of Michigan. While living in Traverse City, Naomi Bolin was an active member of the Central Methodist Church and the Friendship Force.

She was married on Nov. 7, 1942, to James Rayworth Bolin, who died in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on October 27, 2001. They are survived by their sons, John Seelye (Sandra Anne Blaine) Bolin of Berea, Ky. and Bruce Campbell (Janet Louise McClelland) Bolin of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Blaine (Yan Hu) Bolin of Alexandria, Va., Claire McClelland Bolin of Toronto, Ontario and Margot McClelland Bolin of Toronto; a brother and sister, Raymond Seelye of Saginaw and Elizabeth Jean Seelye Thompson of Cadillac; several sisters-in-law, Alice Louise Smith Seelye of Traverse City, Sarah Lewis Seelye of Boyne City, Kathryn Leone Schulteiss Seelye of Newberg, Ore. and Joanne Frieda Davenport (Raymond) Seelye.

Naomi will be interred, at a later date, at the Memorial Garden of the First Methodist Church in Ann Arbor, where James Bolin is also interred.
