WOODWARD, Okla. – Mona K. McCoy, 77, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Woodward Regional Hospital and Health Center.
She was born Aug. 26, 1934, to John and Mildred Sealey in the Epworth Hospital in Liberal.
She married Guy D. McCoy Jr. in the Danforth Chapel in Lawrence.
She was a homemaker for 20 years, during which she graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Education on June 2, 1962. She was a devoted mother of five children and went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Women’s Literature.
She is survived five children, Sherry and David Gill, Lawrence, Allen and Joyce McCoy, Overland Park, Guy McCoy and Genelle Denneny, Lawrence, Catherine McCoy and Mike Tassielli, Seattle, Wash., and Kelly and Brian McNeil, Bozeman, Mont.; two bwothers, Joe Sealey and wife, Teresa, Liberal, Michael and Shirley Sealey, Evanston, Wyo.; one sister, Mary Ann Greenway and husband, Sam, Woodward; seven grandchildren, Kellybn Perez and husband, Joseph, Phoenix, Ariz., Caleb and Hannah McCoy, Overland Park, Pieter Tassielle, Seattle, Katie, Riley and Maggie McNeil, Bozeman, Mont.
