Of Maple Avenue, Southport, NY passed away August 6, 2009 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. M. Eugene Pittman on March 24, 2002. Mary was born in Marcellus, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Cora Phillips Seeley. She graduated from Syracuse Normal School and taught at Marcellus Central Schools and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include her children, Mary Sue Duncan of Alton, NY, Harry and Sharon Pittman of Rochester, NY, Judy Pittman of Corning, NY and Betsy and Robert Solsky of West Burlington, PA, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. Her services are private and at the convenience of the family. Memorials are directed to the Southport Volunteer Fire Department, 1001 Carl Street, Elmira, NY, 14904 or to Southern Tier Hospice, 1175 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY.
