Mary Louise Seeley Reeves, 86, made her journey to Heaven on December 18, 2013. Mary Lou, a longtime resident of both DeWitt, NY and Clearwater, FL, passed away at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park, FL, with her beloved daughter Patty by her side. Mary Lou graduated from Painted Post High School in 1945 and went on to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University in Home Economics and Institutional Management. She had a great passion for singing and belonged to numerous singing groups throughout her life. She was the founder of the Plymouth Day Care Center in Syracuse, NY, a food service worker at Jamesville DeWitt High School and a dedicated mother and wife. She loved making her own clothes, cooking for special events and spending time with her family at their cottage on Seneca Lake. She was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church (UCC) in Syracuse, NY and an Associate Member of Faith United Church of Christ in Dunedin, Florida.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Stanley Reeves; daughter, Patricia Reeves Allen; grandchildren, Carina Allen and Jeffrey Allen, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at Plymouth Congregational Church in Syracuse.
