Mary Grace Chopiak
Newark Valley: Mary Grace Chopiak, 69, passed suddenly at her home on Sept. 7, 2012.
Grace is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Sam Chopiak; her devoted children: Laurie and Bill Yeomans, Sandra and Tom VanAlstine, Sharon and Mark Crotsley, Bev and Ken Battaglini, Dan and Karen Chopiak; her beloved sister Marjorie and Russ Chopiak, and a brother, David and Elizabeth Seely; her cherished grandchildren: Melissa (Ronnie), Kara, Samantha, Morgan, Benjamin, Katie, Jon, Emily, Michael, Hannah, Zachary, Kenna, Jacob, Cheyenne ; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born on March 20, 1943 in Endicott, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Dorothy (Mudge) Seely. Also predeceasing her was her brother Richard Seely.
In addition to raising her family and assisting Sam in the operation of the family farm, Grace was an employee of the Maine-Endwell School system for 25 years.
She was a member of the Maine Federated Church, and an accomplished musician on the piano, organ and accordion..polka music being a favorite . An artisan with a needle, she handcrafted many beautiful embroidered, knitted, crocheted and needlepoint items.
