Mary Estelle Grieve
Mary Estelle Grieve, a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2005. She was born December 11, 1934 in San Francisco, California. Estelle moved to Douglas, Arizona as a young child and spent the rest of her life in Arizona, living in Mescal for the last ten years. She is survived by her husband Oliver, daughters Sally Duncan (Timothy) and Karen Wulff (Carl), her six grandchildren, Samantha, Laura, Kevin, Amanda, Caleb and Veronica, her mother Sarah Thompson and sister Christine Jackson. Estelle greatest loves were her family and her animals. In her youth Estelle was a roller skating and jitter-bug dance champion in Douglas. She married in 1953 and enjoyed 51 years with Oliver. Estelle was a devoted and loving mother. She volunteered many hours at her daughter’s schools, in Girl Scouts and Job’s Daughters. Estelle spent many years working at Valencia Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. Once her children were in high school she worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she retired in 1992. Estelle was always a mother to anyone needed a mother’s care, a generous and giving person. Estelle enjoyed doing many types of arts and crafts throughout her life and she passed these interests onto her daughters and grandchildren. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren. Estelle’s love for her family will be in our hearts always. A Memorial Mass will held on Saturday April 9, 2005 at 12 noon at the Holy Trinity Monastery, St. David, AZ. It was Estelle’s wishes that donations be made to the Benson Animal Shelter, in lieu of flowers.
