BENEDICT, Marjorie L.

Age 72, of Roseville, PA, Saturday, July 1, 1995 at Troy Hospital, Troy, PA.  Mrs. Benedict was born November 14, 1922 in Roseville, PA, a daughter of Louis V. and Carrie M. Haff Seeley.  She was a manager and cook for the former Roseville Elementary School cafeteria, a cook for the former Johnson’s Truck Haven Lambs Creek and manager and cook for the former Hats Restaurant, Mansfield.  Mrs. Benedict was also a manager for the former Dutch Pantry, Mansfield and a caterer and cook for the Corey Creek Golf Course, Mansfield.  She retired from Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro, where she was employed as a Nurse’s Aid and had been associated with the Watson Cemetery for 50 years.  Mrs. Benedict was an avid bingo player and a devoted mother, grandmother and friend.  Surviving are a son, Donald L. Benedict of Mainesburg, PA; a daughter, Donna M. Baker of Roseville, PA; 3 grandchildren; 1 step great-grandchild; 1 sister, Pauline Baker and 1 brother, Robert Seeley, both of Roseville, PA; several nieces and nephews; and 2 very dear friends Rex and Janice Chamberlain of Roseville, PA.  Mrs. Benedict was predeceased by her husband, Truman W. Benedict in 1989 and her sister, Doris Sprague in 1975.  Friends may call at the Gary W. Wilston Funeral Home, 18 N. Main Street, Mansfield, PA, Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday 1-2 PM.  Funeral Services will be held there Thursday at 2 PM with the Dr. Rev. James Bellemy, her pastor, and the Rev. Ivan Mathewson officiating.  Burial in Watson Cemetery, Roseville, PA.  The family will provide the flowers.  Memorial donations in Mrs. Benedicts name may be made to the Fire and Ambulance Building Fund, 13 East Wellsboro St, Mansfield, PA or to the Roseville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
