MARJORIE EVANS SEELEY WHITMAN
WHITMAN, MARJORIE EVANS SEELEY – Aged 85, died peacefully at Melville Lodge on Wednesday, August 6, 2003. She was born 29 May 1918 in Saint John, N.B., the daughter of Lena Maude Evans Seely and John Underhay (Don) Seely. She was married on 28 June 1975 to Burpee Fraser (Sam) Whitman who predeceased her in 1988. She is survived by her nephew Stephen, her niece Suzanne and the many friends whose company she so much valued and enjoyed. A graduate of the Halifax Ladies’ College and Miss Murphy’s Business College, she was employed in various municipal services for 36 years and retired from the Halifax School Board in 1977. A Memorial Service will be held in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Barrington St., Halifax, N.S. on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
