Marjel Sharon Higgs 79, of New Plymouth passed away peacefully on November 5, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Marge was born on June 29, 1937 in Westwood California to Wallace and Claire Seely. Marge was the youngest, along with three brothers: William, Ronald and Whitney.
The Family moved to Ukiah California where she met her future husband, Kenneth Higgs, a friend of her brother Ronald. They were married in Reno Nevada on October 23, 1955, while her husband was serving in the U.S. Navy. Together, they had four boys: Danny, Donald, James and David. Her husband worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the family moved several times over his career, from California to Idaho, Washington, New York, Montana, Washington D.C. and finally back to Idaho, retiring in Boise. Shortly after retirement, they moved to New Plymouth Idaho.
Marge was a wonderful Mother and wife, as well as a fabulous cook. She was inherently a little shy, but at the boys sporting events, she could be heard over any crowd. The boys affectionately called her Tweety. Consequently, she had many Tweety Bird caps, sweaters, cups etc. You may have even seen her Tweety license plate. With four boys and a husband who enjoyed hunting and fishing, she had no choice but to join in. She spent many years hunting and fishing with her family and friends.
Marge is survived by her husband and two sons, Danny and David and their spouses, six grand children, Eleven great grand children, and two great great grandsons.
At Marge’s request , no funeral services were held. A celebration of her life will be held on June 29, 2017 for family and friends at her son’s cabin near Featherville Idaho.
