NORTHUMBERLAND – Mrs. Mabel C. Diehl, 80, of 354 Front St. died yesterday morning in the Leader Nursing Home, Sunbury.
Born in Northumberland, Sept. 26, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Myron S. and Edith McPherson. She and her husband, Herbert C. Diehl, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in May.
She worked for many years for Feaster Dress Shop in Northumberland.
Mrs. Diehl was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Northumberland, and the Van Alen Sunday school class. She was a member of the Northumberland Civic Club: and was active in the Girl Scout movement in Northumberland.
She was a 1922 graduate of Northumberland High School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children, William C. of Ellicott City, Md., Myron H. of Hampstead Md., Mrs. Jean Atherton of Mechanicsburg and Mrs. Millie Bender of Bowie, Md.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Benson of York.
A brother preceded her in death.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, Northumberland, by the Rev. William M. Startley. Burial Will be in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
Friends may call in the funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m.
