Lois Seeley West
OCEANPORT – Lois Seeley West, 89, of Oceanport passed away on Sunday, December 3rd at Fountain View Care Center in Lakewood, NJ.
Born and raised in Long Branch, Lois graduated from Long Branch High School.
Lois worked as a civil service employee at Fort Monmouth for fifteen years. She was a parishioner, Sunday School teacher, choir member, Deacon and subsequently an Elder of the First Reformed Church of Long Branch. Lois had a true artistic talent in the handcrafts that she shared through teaching. She taught knitting, sewing, needlepoint, and quilting for several years in the Monmouth County Adult Education program. She was a Brownie Girl Scout leader in Oceanport for fourteen years and a long-time member and past president of the Oceanport Garden Club.
Lois was a loving mother and a caring friend who was always willing to help others.
Lois is predeceased by her parents, George and Ianna Seeley; her siblings, Alice Davidson, Mervil Seeley, Betty Fornataro, and Howard Seeley.
Surviving is her daughter, Lynn West, Oceanport; and her brother-in-law and devoted long-time caregiver, John Fornataro, Lakewood.
All services for Lois will be private.
