OWEN – Linda Wyeth, age 69, of Owen, Wis., unexpectedly passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016. She was born in Rockford, Ill., on Sept. 29, 1947, to her parents, Robert and Betty (Couch) Seeley.

Linda was an avid reader and experiencer of life. During her freelance career as a journalist she rarely met someone she couldn’t talk to, always eager to tell a story. But it was being the wife of her husband, Don, and the mother to eight energetic boys, and the grandmother to seven grandchildren that she felt was her greatest story. In addition to being a tenacious reporter, and a devoted mother and grandmother, Linda was a generous spirit, often opening her home to those who needed a friend or a place to visit, sharing her family’s Thanksgivings and Christmases with those who couldn’t get home to family, or did not have one.

Linda is survived by her husband, Donald of Owen, Wis.; sisters, Nancy (Alton) Wilson of Argyle, Wis., and Faye Seeley of Cypress, Calif.; various relatives and cousins; and her sons, Kevin (Bonnie) Wyeth of Curtiss, Wis.; Eric (Judy) Wyeth of Lodi, Wis.; Pete (Anita) Wyeth of Janesville, Wis.; Christopher (Katie) Sanders of Omaha, Neb.; Jeremy (Lisa) Wyeth of Madison, Wis.; David Wyeth of Madison, Wis.; Stephen Wyeth of Madison, Wis.; and Nicholas (Novice) Wyeth of Sun Prairie, Wis.; along with her treasured grandchildren, Cody and Corbin Sanders; Penelope and Milo Wyeth; Ronan and Maximus Wyeth; and newest addition, Oliver; and her nephew, John; as well many friends and collaborators in Madison, Wis., and Monroe, Wis.; as well as her work family, the staff of The Sentinel and Rural News in Owen, Wis.

A celebration of Linda’s life for all that knew and loved her will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at THE OLD SCHOOL, 101 W. Third St., Owen, WI 54460. Come and share your stories of Linda with us, and take comfort in each other’s company.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: University of Wisconsin Foundation, UW Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, US Bank Lockbox, PO Box 78807, Milwaukee, WI 53278-0807.
