Katherine Evarts
Katherine Evarts, a West Scranton resident, died Thursday afternoon at Mercy Hospital. Her husband of 47 years, David R. Evarts, died June 4, 1995.
Born in South Canaan, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Ann Hoadley Seeley. A graduate of South Canaan High School, she was a homemaker for her family, was of the Methodist faith and was a member of AARP.
Surviving are six sons, Edward, George and Daniel, all of Scranton; Richard, Montdale, Peter, Taylor, and Time, West Wyoming; three daughters, Connie Doyle and Alberta Chapman, both of Scranton, and Bettsy Canalieri, California; 32 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Faith Evarts, and a grandson, Adam Caster; five brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Edward J. Chamko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton.
