Joyce M. Dawson age 68, of Rt.1 Box 274, Barnett Acres, Clarksburg, WV departed this life on Friday, March 9, 2007 in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Hilliard, OH on Oct. 8, 1938, a daughter of the late Albert Lee Seely and Ada D. (Shier) Seely.

Her husband, Wayne G. Dawson, whom she married on June 24, 1972 preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1996.

Surviving are one step daughter, Dee Ann Stafford and husband, Don, Fayetteville, NC, one step son, Lee Miller Dawson, Los Angeles, CA, two step grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Kotz, two brothers, Thomas Lee Seely and wife, Ellen, Brownwood, TX and Walter S. Deoring and his wife, Sandi, Blue Springs, MO, 2 aunts, Freda Mueller, Dublin, OH and Helen Shier, Dublin, OH, sisters and brother in law, Drew Bogert, TX and Fern and Cliff Lynfoot, OH, two nephews, 2 nieces and several cousins.

Mrs. Dawson was a long time member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Clarksburg where she was a member of the Rebecca Women’s Guild. She served as president and guild chairman of the WELCA Women’s Group. She was a member of the church choir for many years. Mrs. Dawson was also a member of the American Business Women Association, Flambeau Chapter, Columbus, OH where she served as president, recording secretary and chairman of several committees and the Clarksburg League for service.

Mrs. Dawson was secretary for the NCR Company, Columbus, OH and did secretarial work for Kelley Services.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at

10 a.m., Wed., Mar. 14, 2007 at the St. Marks Lutheran Church with the Rev. James L. Caton II presiding.

Mrs. Dawson will lie in state from 9-10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, OH on Thursday at 1p.m.. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the All Saints Fund, St. Marks Lutheran Church, Rt. 1 Box 210, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
