Jean S. Alve, 92, of Spencer, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Elderwood in Waverly, NY. She was born in Milford, Michigan on March 25, 1924, the daughter of Curtis and Agnes (Grist) Seely. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Alve; grandsons, Carl Edward Alve, Jr., and James Douglas Alve; and brother, Miles Seely. Jean is survived by sons, Carl (Glenda) Alve, Spencer, and David Alve, Dallas, TX; 3 grandchildren, Hilary (Shane) Schilling, Spencer, Seth (Merrit) Alve, Dallas, TX, Chesley (Seth) Stoltz, Colorado Springs, CO; 7 great grandchildren, Danielle, Alex, Zoe, Ki, Shyla, Lucas, and Lane; step grandchildren, Kristy Arnold, and Wade VanZile; step great grandchildren, Kallysta, Amanda, Jade, and Hallie; brother, Neil Seely; nieces and nephews. Jean was a member of Faith Bible Chapel serving 34 years as pianist and in the Awana Ministry. She was a member of Finger Lake Finns and the Penny Promenaders Square Dance Club. Jean was Spencer Historian for 32 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Faith Bible Chapel in Spencer, NY. A private graveside service was held at La Row Cemetery in North Van Etten, NY. Memorials in Jean’s name may be directed to Faith Bible Chapel. Arrangements are with Allen-Manzer Fuenral Home, Spencer, NY.
