Iva S. Clark, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, after a long courageous battle with emphysema, surrounded by her loving family. She had just celebrated her 64th birthday. The daughter of the late Edwin Seeley and Amelia Avery Seeley, she was born on February 5, 1948.

Iva was raised in Forestburgh and spent her summers in Rock Hill, NY and her winters in Naples, FL. She was a secretary for her husband’s landscaping business, Park Island Nursery, which did the landscaping for the IBM plants and many other large companies, until she and her husband retired.

A family statement reads, “If Iva taught us nothing else in life she taught us the importance and the strength of family. The love she had for her family and the strength that it gave her is what kept her strong for all of these years while she fought her sickness.”

She is survived by her husband of 41 loving years, Arthur O. Clark; her daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Gregg Pitula of Rock Hill; a step daughter, Ellen Widelitz of Grahamsville; two ex-son-in-laws, Alan Petrowsky of Rock Hill, and Michael Jahn of Monticello; her beloved grandchildren: MaKayla Jahn, Christopher Pitula, Alexis Petrowsky Romero and her husband, Jason Romero, Noah Petrowsky, and Jeremy Clark; a great granddaughter, Stephanie Clark, and she was awaiting the arrival of her great grandson, Colt Romero, who is due in May, as well as several people who were like family to her.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Robert Seeley; a grandson, Ryan Petrowsky, and two step-sons, Arthur and Gregory Clark.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home in Monticello. Her funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glen Wild Cemetery.
