Pioneer Orange Resident Dies

Mrs. Ida May Collins, 64, resident of Orange for the past 17 years, died this morning at her home, 224 South Batavia street.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the C.W. Coffey chapel with the Rev. James B. Abbott, pastor of the Orange Free Methodist church, officiating.

In addition to her husband, John J. Collins, she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Eva Pannell of Santa Ana; four sons, Lloyd R. and Raymond Collins, both of Coalinga; Ross M., El Centro, and Norman of South Gate; a brother, Edwin Seely, Watsonville; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Axelson, Los Angeles, and six grandchildren.

Last Rites Held For Mrs. Collins

Orange, April 6 – Funeral services for Mrs. Ida May Collins, 64, who passed away Saturday morning at her home, 224 South Batavia street, were held yesterday afternoon at the C.W. Coffey chapel, with the Rev. J.B. Abbott, pastor of the Free Methodist church of Orange, officiating.

Mrs. Erwin Hager offered two vocal selections, “Jesus Lover of My Soul” and “Some Bright Morning.”  She was accompanied at the organ by Otis Ingle.  Pallbearers were: Messrs. Perry V. Grout, Bernard Nuffer, Eric A. Kuechel, H.A. Brown, D.E. Strain and William F. Feldner.  Interment was in Fairhaven cemetery.

Mrs. Collins, who was born in Winters, Calif., had lived in Orange for the past 17 years.  She is survived by her husband, John J. Collins; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Pannell, of Santa Ana; four sons, Lloyd R., of Coalinga, Raymond of Coalinga; Ross M. of El Centro and Norman of South Gate; six grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Seely of Watsonville; one sister, Mrs. Jessie B. Axelson, of Los Angeles.  Mrs. Collins was a member of the Orange Free Methodist church.
