Hattie Myrtle Cheney

Hattie Myrtle Cheney, 92, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, at 11:34 p.m., in a nursing home in Boise, Idaho. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at 2 p.m. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Hattie was born Feb. 11, 1915 in Pocatello, Idaho to Nora and James Seeley and was raised in Albion, Idaho. In 1932 she married Charles Harry Allen and they moved to Boise, Idaho where she resided for most of the remainder of her life. They had two children, Fredrick James Allen and Julia Ann Cushman. In 1976 Hattie married James E. Cheney. Hattie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she taught primary for many years. She was also an avid member of the Old Time Fiddlers. She was a practical nurse at St. Alphonsus Hospital and the Elks Rehab, she was a long time cook at the Bon Marche, Federal building and what is now called BSU. She loved cooking, camping, dancing and crocheting. (She was famous for her pot holders). Hattie was preceded in death by parents Nora Ankeman and James D. Seeley, a brother Earl Seeley, sister Nellie Davis, her husbands Charles H. Allen and James E. Cheney, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter. Hattie is survived by a brother, Walter Seeley of Preston, Idaho; a son and daughter-in-law, Fredrick J. and Donna Allen; daughter Julia A. Cushman all of Boise, Idaho. Grandchildren, Christopher M. Cushman, C Jay Cushman, Charry A. Cushman, Craig B. Cushman, Caroline L. Marcotte, Dale Allen, Barbara Cole, Bonny Allen, Brenda Allen and William L. Allen. She was also survived by several stepchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
