Hattie Currie

Mrs Hattie Currey (Currie) Buried Last Week

Funeral services were held in Miles City last week for Mrs. Hattie Currie, a sister of Mrs Alfred Clarke of Terry, who died at the age of 76 at her home in Spokane WA. Chapel rites were held with Father Francis officiating and interment was made in the Custer County Cemetery.

Mrs. Currie was preceded in death by her husband, William Currie, who passed away in 1914. Both Mr and Mrs Currie were old time residents of the Miles City community.

Mrs Currie was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Seely who were also early day residents of that community.

Mr. Currie was a scout for General Custer and would have accompanied him to his last standard had he not been injured by a poisoned arrow which kept him out of the battle.

His death in later years, however, was attributed to this injury.

Mrs. Currie is survived by four sons, Pierre of Spokane, Colin of Seattle, Milton of Chicago and Tylee of Hermiston Or; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Schmitt of Spokane; and two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Evans of Billings and Mrs. Clarke of Terry.
