Harriet Nichols

Harriet Nichols, 94, of Middlebrook Hill Road, North Harpersfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Eden Park Nursing Home, Cobleskill after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 9, 1885 in North Harpersfield, a daughter of James and Francelia (Topping) Seeley.  She married Clarence D. Nichols July 25, 1906 in Jefferson.  He died March 9, 1968.

Mrs. Nichols was a North Harpersfield resident all of her life.

She was a member of the North Harpersfield United Methodist Church for over 50 years.  During that time, she served as church organist.

Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. Dorothy Clapper and Mrs. Basil (Nellie) Champlin both of North Harpersfield, and Mrs. Marian Churchill, Stamford; a son, Leland, North Harpersfield; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday Jan. 25 at the Hall Funeral Home, Stamford, with the Rev. Richard Mellerup, pastor of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in West Jefferson Cemetery later.

Those who wish may contribute to Jefferson United Methodist Church.  The family requests no flowers.
