Linder CARROLLTON – Mrs. Grace Edith Linder, 89, widow of Clyde Linder, died Monday in Modern Care Nursing Home, Jacksonville, where she had been a patient for more than three years. The former Grace Edith Seely, she was born Jan. 12, 1879, on the Stewart Seely farm, west of White Hall. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Seely. She was married Sept. 10, 1900, in Carrollton to Clyde Linder. Her husband preceded her in death in 1945. While in Carrollton she served as probation officer and was active in public welfare work. As a hobby she was in the antique business with Mrs. P.J. Achenbach, Mrs. E. L. Sharon and the late Mrs. Henry Borlin. In 1938 she and her husband moved to Palm Springs, Calif., and later to Washington, D.C., where Mrs. Linder was an account assistant in the Bureau of Supplies of the U.S. Navy. After her retirement in 1947 she moved to California where she resided until 1953 when she became ill and was brought to White Hall to Hilltop Nursing Home. Later she entered the nursing home at Jacksonville. She was a former member of the Methodist Church and the East End Reading Circle at Carrollton. Surviving are a son, Stewart Seely Linder, Torrance, Calif., a brother, Lloyd L. Seely, White Hall, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Mires Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Pierce, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Carrollton City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
