OWEGO, NY – Flora E. Bruno, 85, of Owego, NY, was carried from her home by the angels into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 18, 2006.

A funeral service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Route 17c West, Owego, N.Y., on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Loretta Perry, Pastor of the Gospel Chapel, Owego, officiating. Burial will follow in Halsey Valley Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at Richards Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Flora E. Bruno of Owego, N.Y.

Flora E. Bruno, 85, of Owego, N.Y., was carried from her home by the angels into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 18, 2006.  She was born in Tioga Center, N.Y., on December 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Franklin Leslie and Sarah Naomi (Wiggins) Seeley, and was predeceased by her brothers, Henry Seeley, Walter “Mike” Seeley; and her sister, Dora Marie (Seeley) Ritter.  Flora is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Ralph Diller; and after the passing of her sister, Dora Marie, she adopted as her children, Charles Lohmeyer, Robert Ritter, Cathy and Gary Haskell; and grandchildren, Timothy Barrett, Lindsay Haskell, Sarah Haskell, Tammy (Tracy) Babcock, Carol Swartz, and Charles (Cindy) Lohmeyer, Jr.  Flora is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gladys Seeley and Ruth Seeley; and brother-in-law, Robert E. Ritter; nieces and nephews, John Diller, Paul Diller, Rhonda Seeley, Saralene Hunt, Roxanne Dolinich, Mikolleen Patterson, Jim Seeley, Mikel “Buzz” Seeley and their families; and several great-nieces and nephews.  As the oldest of five children, she helped her mother raise her brothers and sisters.  She was a faithful employee of Endicott Johnson Shoe Company for 26 years, and Morse Automotive Products of Borg-Warner Corp. for 19 years.  Upon retirement, she continued her faithful work ethic as a clerk for 11 years of A New Heaven & Earth Christian Book & Gift Shoppe is Owego, N.Y., which she considered to be the best job she ever had.  Upon the store’s closing, she continued employment as a clerk for Ichabod’s Furniture & Wicker Store in Owego, N.Y. until December 2005.  Flora is a committed and faithful Christian believer, which began in 1978 when she gave her life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She became a faithful and devoted member of Gospel Chapel in Owego, N.Y.  She is precious to and loved by all who know her.  Flora’s greatest desire and prayer was for her family and all she knows to come to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to know Him and His saving grace and eternal life.
