Gettysburg – Doris Ann Todd, 71, of Gettysburg died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Bass Hospital in Enid, Okla. Funeral arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Published in the Aberdeen American News (SD) – Monday, June 18, 2007 Doris Ann Todd was born on October 6, 1935 at Gettysburg, SD to Floyd and Alice (Bevers) Seely. Doris grew up in Gettysburg and attended school there graduating from Gettysburg High School in 1953. Following high school Doris continued her education by attending business school in Rapid City. She then lived for a short time with her sister in Illinois before returning to Gettysburg. After returning to Gettysburg she worked for the selective service. On January 2, 1958 Doris married Elroy Todd at the United Methodist Church in Gettysburg. Following their marriage they made their home in Gettysburg where she has since resided. Recently Doris has divided her time between Gettysburg and Enid so that she could spend more time with her grandchildren. Doris worked in the school kitchen at Gettysburg public school for many years and she also sold insurance. Doris enjoyed attending the Church of God in Tolstoy and doing bible studies. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great source of joy for her she enjoyed spending time with them when ever she could and always looked forward to the summer visits to Gettysburg by her oldest grandson Jason. Mrs. Todd passed away June 16, 2007 at the Bass Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma She is survived by her husband Elroy of Gettysburg, SD, son Art of Robertsdale, AL, and daughter Marietta (Rau’l) Martinez of Enid, OK; grandchildren Courtney Michelle Todd-Paynter of Bentonville, AR and Jason Michael Clark of Enid, OK great grandchildren Dylan Emmanuel and Henry Isiah Paynter; brother Robert (Verla) Seely of Wood River, Ill. and sisters Norma (Richard) Elliott of Woodriver, Ill and Helen (Bobby Lee) Weddle of Blunt, SD.. Funeral services for Doris Ann Todd 71 of Gettysburg will be Thursday June 21, 2007 at the United Methodist church in Gettysburg. Burial will be in the Gettysburg Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral home of Mobridge. The pianist will be Diane Hintz. The congregation will sing “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”. Special music will be by Diane Hintz and Elroy Todd. Published by unknown.
