Delia Ann Kingsland

Death of Mrs. W.W. Kingsland

In the columns of yesterday’s Herald we briefly stated that Mrs. W.WE. Kingsland was in a very critical condition and that death might ensue at any time. Before many of our readers had read the item this esteemed lady had passed away, her death occurring yesterday morning, not from any particular disease but from natural causes. In all too rapid succession four deaths have taken place in the Kingsland residence, Col. Oliver Keese a few years ago, then in March last Mr. Kingsland, last Saturday Mrs. Col. Keese, and now the Reaper has taken another. For more than fifty years Mr. and Mrs. Kingsland traveled life’s journey together. She was the last of her immediate family, her brother, Mr. F.L. Seeley, having died but a few months since. She was born in New York city 79 years ago last June and has been a resident of Titusville since 1862, during which period she has been a member of the Presbyterian church, having been received by letter from the Congregational church, of Keeseville, N.Y., her former residence. She was not blessed with children, but no mother was ever more attached to her offspring than was Mrs. Kingsland to Mrs. Keese, her daughter by adoption. Mr. George P. Keese and Miss Louise Keese returned from their funeral journey on the 1:43 train this morning.

The funeral services will probably be held Saturday afternoon at the residence, northeast corner Monroe and Elm streets. The interment will be at Woodlawn cemetery. The hour will be announced in tomorrow’s Herald.
