CATHERINE SEELEY CHARLES Catherine Seeley Charles 83, a resident of Jeanerette and native of Jennings, died Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 4:41 a.m., at Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette following a short illness. Visitations will be observed Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Israelite Spiritual Church, 222 Flattown Rd., in Charenton. Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with the Rev. Isabella Gasper officiating. Interment will follow in the Godman Cemetery in Charenton. Survivors include one son, Ulysses Charles of Charenton; two brothers, Oliver (Geneva) Seeley of Los Angeles, CA and Olen (Shelia) P. Seeley of Las Vegas, NV; and five sisters, Audrey Lyons of Alameda, CA, Margaret Simon of Jennings, Norma Larry of Lancaster, CA, Mary Prevost of Lake View Terrace, CA and Gloria (Ollie) Lovings of Houston, TX and Delores (Raymond) Wilson of Palm Dale, CA. Mrs. Charles was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
