BONNIE CLAIRE HOBBS

On July 12, 2005, Bonnie Claire (Seeley) Hobbs passed on to greener pastures. She was 82 and had been a long time resident of Norco, but recently moved to Morningside in Fullerton. She came to California from a farm in Chester, SD, in 1940 at age 18 to live with her aunt in Orange. She met her husband Charles when one of her customers suggested she meet her son when he came back from the war, and that customer became her mother-in-law Aug. 28, 1948. They had 3 children: Lee, Brian and Donna. Brian died on Oct. 6, 1960. Bonnie and Chuck were involved in many ventures over the years, including a family owned Trucking Co., Dance Club ‘Quien Sabe,’ raised rabbits, Boy Scouts, Little League, 4-H and FFA Clubs, had horses and a Polled Hereford Cattle Ranch and were in a Foretravel Motorcoach Club. They roamed the roads of America for over 10 years and made friends wherever they went. For over 40 years she played Bridge with 11 other women from Orange. She loved her “Kids” as she called them that she had adopted over the years. She was truly an amazing woman and hostess that never knew a stranger. She had bright blue eyes, a warm smile and gave the best hugs. Chuck died Sept. 1, 1999. Bonnie’s surviving herd includes son Alfred Lee Hobbs (wife Virginia) and daughter Donna Sue Hobbs, brothers William Le Roy Seeley (wife Anna Mae) and Merlin Ross Seeley (wife Betty), granddaughter Lynn Renee Meldrum and grandson Tobin Lee Hobbs (wife Michele), and great grandson Ben Charles Meldrum. Services will be held Tues. July 19, 2005, 3 p.m. at Fairhaven Memorial Park (1702 Fairhaven Ave. Santa Ana) at Waverly Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House or a charity of your choice.
