Betty Sealey Stone, 74

Betty Sealey Stone, 74, of Lumberton, died at her residence on Jan. 5, 2011.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Long Branch Baptist Church, the Revs. Jeff Broadwell and Gary Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

She was born in Robeson County on July 1, 1936, to the late I.P. and Ivey Alice Ivey Sealey. She was a homemaker.

Stone was pianist and organist at Long Branch Baptist for 49 years, and an active member of the Carey Hedgpeth Class and the J.O.Y. Group.

Stone is survived by her husband, James Arren “JA” Stone of the home; two sons, Dewey Stone and wife Amy and Kevin Stone and wife Mary Kathryn, all of Lumberton; a daughter, Cindy Kern and husband Michael, both of Fayetteville; two brothers, Paul Sealey of Florence, S.C., and Fuller Sealey of Latta, S.C.; three sisters, Lillian Johnson of Raleigh, Helen Hales of Bladenboro, and Jackie Musselwhite of Lumberton; and three grandchildren, Michael Arren Kern, Jordan Faith Stone, and Lanie Carolyn Stone.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., in Lumberton.
