Betty Lou (Seeley) Watson

Betty Lou (Seeley) Watson of Caro, beloved mother and sister, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the age of 72 years, following a long period of illness. She was born September 13, 1941 in Elmwood Township, Tuscola County, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lydia (Ewald) Seeley. Betty was a 1959 graduate of Cass City High School, and worked in factories for much of her life before retiring from Walbro Corporation. She enjoyed socializing, being around animals, especially little dogs, doing puzzles and shopping. In her younger years, she loved dancing and roller skating. Betty’s sweet disposition and outgoing personality allowed her to make friends and strike up conversations wherever she went.

Betty is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Watson) and Louis Cohen of Saginaw; one son, James Watson of Caro; two sisters and their husbands, Joan (Seeley) and James Ware of Cass City, Joyce (Seeley) and Gary Hornbacher of Rio Rico, Arizona; one brother and his wife, Ronald and Jean (Orton) Seeley of Livingston, Texas; sister-in-law, Laurie Seeley of Kawkawlin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Seeley in 2009; and her devoted companion of many years, Lyle Guinther in 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Thomas Haller officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. The family received friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Cass River Pet Friendz or the Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Barbara Cohen, 205 W. Sherman St., Caro, MI 48723. The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.
