Betty Lou (Seely) Bailer

Betty Lou (Seely) Bailer (Age 87).Raised in Syracuse and Liberty, NY, Betty graduated from Centenary College and attended Syracuse University. She was a homemaker, raising two children, and worked for Onondaga County as a Social Service Worker. She and her husband moved to Bradenton, Fla. in 2000.  Her parents were Mildred Sprague Seely and Harleigh Hulbert Seely. She is survived by Dorlyn Bailer, her loving husband of 64 years; her brother Harleigh Seely and his wife Virginia of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; her son William Bailer of Rochester, N.Y.; her son Thomas Bailer and his wife Susan of West Hartford, Conn. and their children Lauren Bailer of Arlington, Va., Andrew Bailer of Ashland, Ore. and Katie Bailer of West Hartford. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was known by all for being nice, and she will be long remembered and sorely missed. There will be no services. Internment will be at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Navarino, N.Y.

Sister of Harleigh “Tom” Seely, Betty Lou Bailer of Bradenton, Fla., died there under the loving care of Hospice on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012.

Betty Lou, born in Syracuse, N.Y., and was the daughter of Mildred Sprague Seely and Harleigh Hulbert Seely.

She graduated from Centenary College and attended Syracuse University.

She was a homemaker, raising two children, and worked for Onondaga County as a social service worker. She and her husband moved to Bradenton, in 2000.

She is survived by Dorlyn Bailer, her loving husband of 64 years; her brother, Harleigh “Tom” Seely and his wife, Virginia, of Berkeley Springs; her sons William Bailer, of Rochester, N.Y., and Thomas Bailer and his wife, Susan, of West Hartford, Conn., and their children Lauren Bailer, of Arlington, Va., Andrew Bailer, of Ashland, Ore., and Katie Bailer, of West Hartford, Conn.

She will be buried at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Navarino, N.Y.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
