Ann Parkinson Seeley Davey

Ann Parkinson Seeley Davey, 77, formerly of 502 Asbury Circle, Burdine Springs, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Magnolia Place of Greenville.

Born in Asheville, N.C., Mrs. Davey was the daughter of the late Horace Isaac and Barbara Barfield Seeley.  She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Davey was a former director of the United Way of Greenville and was a former public relations director of the School District of Green County.  After being employed as a copy writer for Leslie Advertising, she was the public relations director of Furman University.  Later, she was the associate editor of the Easley Progress serving with her husband, William Leonard Davey Jr., who was the editor.  Following her husband’s death in 1971, she became the editor of the Easley Progress until 1981.  Mrs. Davey was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Easley and was formerly a member of the Greenville Civic Chorale.

Surviving are one daughter, Amanda D. McCall of Greenville; one grandson, Douglas Reddick of Easley; and one great-granddaughter, Alena Reddick of Easley.

Memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Parker Marks at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2000, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Robinson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601.
