Albertha Samels

Mrs. Albertha Samels, a life long resident of Williamsburg, died Thursday morning at the James Decker Munson hospital, where she had been taken for medical treatment. Albertha Seeley was born in Willliamsburg June 1, 1877, and had spent her entire life there. On April. 6, 1897, she was united in marriage to William H. Samels. To his union were born seven children, two having passed away infancy. Mrs. Samels was a woman of sterling character and was known throughout the entire community for her kindness and generosity to those in need. She was a valued and beloved member of the Williamsburg Rebekah lodge and the Royal Neighbors. Left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother are Mr. Samels, four daughters, Nancy Stites, Geneva Irish, Hilda Gibson all of Williamsburg, and Ruby at home, and one son, Eldron at home, besides five brothers, three sisters, seven grand children and other relatives, as well as innumerable friends. The body was taken to H. L. Weaver Funeral Home where it will lie in state until Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock standard time, when funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal church of Williamsburg. Rev. Mr. Birdsall officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot at Williamsburg.
