Ailene “Pete” Brooks, 83, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Eldorado Rehab and Nursing Center in Eldorado. She was born on December 13, 1935 in New Haven, the daughter of George and Lily (Thomas) Seely. Pete married George Thomas Brooks on September 14, 1953 and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2002. She attended the Shawneetown Church of God. Pete leaves behind her loving family; two daughters, Linda Brooks of Shawneetown, Diane and Daniel Randall of Eldorado; two sons, David and Lori Brooks, Dana and Linda Brooks, both of Shawneetown; grandchildren, Holly and Vicki McVey, Dwight Brooks, Thomas and Mandy Brooks, Savannah and Brad Clark-Owens, Kyle Brooks; great grandchildren, Aidan Clark, Marissa Clark, Nikolas Clark, Paisley Owens, Maddux Brooks, and Kyla Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six sisters, Lolene “Bill Seely” Williams, Margaret Butts, Dorothy Gordon, Barbara Sparrow, Betty Ring, and Mary Flahardy; three brothers, Harry, Johnny and Tommy Seely; one grandson, Justin “Rudy” Brooks. Visitation for Pete will be held on Sunday, December 1st from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. The Reverend Randy Vaughn will be officiating the Service with burial at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
