Robert Seeley Johnson
Robert Seeley Johnson, 75, an Army veteran and retired pharmaceutical company sales representative who lived on the Northwest Side, died Friday in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Born in Galesburg, Mr. Johnson attended Knox College there and Northwestern University before entering the Army as a private in 1940. He retired in 1967 with the rank of major, having served in World War II and the Korean War. He also served in the Army Air Corps and Army Reserve.
He was active in many veterans organizations and had served as commander of Billy Caldwell American Legion Post 806 on the North Side. He was a member of the Medinah Temple and Skokie Valley Shrine Club.
Mr. Johnson became a sales representative for Wyeth Labs after leaving the Army, retiring in 1977.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a brother, Richard, and two sisters, Marjorie Holst and Georgia May Harthon.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. in the Smith Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero. A funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday in Galesburg.
