Golee Andrews

Golee “Cooter” Andrews, who served as the Citronelle fire marshal for 21 years, died Monday at his home. He was 83.

Andrews, a native and resident of Citronelle, worked as a merchant mariner for more than 20 years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Citronelle, the Scottish Rite, Citronelle Lodge No. 637 F&AM and the Citronelle Historical Society.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Lee Andrews of Creola; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle, where the service is set for 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Citronelle.
