S. Gilbert Allen

S. Gilbert Allen – Age 67, of Kimball NE. died July 15, 1988. Husband of Betty J. Allen S.G.S. secretary. Masonic Rites followed the funeral.

Burial was in the Kimball Cemetery. Gil was born April 3, 1921 at Scottsbluff to Dr. S.G. and Louise (Beran) Allen. He grew up at Stanton.

He attended Wayne State College at Wayne and University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1946.

He married Betty Meyer, March 6, 1946 at Atlanta, GA.

He owned and operated the Allen Funeral Home in Kimball, NE until he retired in 1985.

Gil was a member of the Nebraska Funeral Directors Assoc., and past President of District #5, also past President of Kimball Jacycees, and member of SAR.

We will miss Gil very much. He was a long time member of S.G.S. Gil rode with me last fall from Kimball, NE to Cheyenne Wyoming when we were on our way to Allenspark, CO. Gil and Betty were on their way to Salt Lake.

He leaves his wife Betty; son Dr. Charles of Denver; daughter Barbara Brady of Omaha; sister Viola Maxwell of Jamestown N.Y. and four grandchildren.
