OXFORD — Lorraine G. Calareso Seeley, 82, formerly of Watertown, passed into eternal rest Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Richard G. Seeley Sr. Mrs. Seeley was born Oct. 12, 1933, in Malden, Mass., the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (De Luca) Calareso Sr. She enjoyed a very long and joyous career as the owner of Lorraine’s Cakes & Catering in Oakville, and later relocated to West Main Street in Waterbury. She spent many years teaching cake decorating for the Adult Education of Watertown and decorating to St. Vincent DePaul’s. Besides her husband, Richard, she leaves behind her daughter, Cathy Lin Lee of Oxford; a son, Robert; her brother, Joseph Calareso Jr. and his wife, Marie, of Reading, Mass.; and her sister, Catherine H. Nigro and her late husband, Al, of Stoneham, Mass. In addition she leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She is predeceased by her son, Richard G. Seeley Jr., and her brothers Charles, John and Anthony Calareso. All services for Mrs. Seeley will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. The O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.

Richard G. Seeley Sr., age 83, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 surrounded by his family at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck after a long battle with Parkinson’s. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lorraine G. (Calareso) Seeley.
Richard was born May 9, 1933 in Waterbury, a son of the late Theodore and Twila (Ireland) Seeley. He grew up in the Waterville section of Waterbury, where he graduated from Sprague Grammar School and Leavenworth High School. After high school, Richard worked as a Mechanic at American Brass in Waterbury, after which he served 8 years in the US Army, stationed in Fort Benning, Ga. He and his wife were married on October 2, 1955 and settled in Watertown and later moved to Oxford. Richard was an electrician for Timex in Middlebury for many years and enjoyed his time as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Waterbury P.D. He became president of the Naugatuck Valley CB Radio Club 1969-1970 and was a member of the Lion’s Club. Richard also enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time with his family and watching professional car racing.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Cathy Lin Lee of Oxford; a son, Robert G. Seeley of Watertown; his sisters, Twila Dews and her husband, Arthur, of Watertown and Betty Foti and her husband, Carmen, of Waterbury. Additionally, he leaves behind his beloved grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his son, Richard G. Seeley Jr.; 7 brothers, Tom, Jack, Ted, Robert, Bernard, Charles, Brian; and his sister, Carole (Seeley) Natale; as well as a sister, who died as an infant.
Services for Mr. Seeley, including burial with full military honors will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. The O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.
