Gowanda, NY — Rosalie C. Seeley, 87, of Gowanda passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born on December 24, 1931 in Irving, NY, daughter of the late Abram and Rachel (Hill) Huff. She married Harvey Seeley Sr. who predeceased her. Mrs. Seeley was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and a member of the Wolf Clan.
Mrs. Seeley is survived by two sons; David Seeley of Gowanda, NY and Jesse (Jen) Seeley of Forestville, NY. She is also survived by a daughter, Rose Seeley of Gowanda, NY. Also surviving is a step son, Bert Seeley of Great Valley, NY and a step-daughter, Ethel (Tom) Frary of Little Valley, NY. Mrs. Seeley is also survived by a brother, Melvin Huff Sr. of Bryant, NY as well as a sister, Marilyn (Bergal) Mitchell of Irving, NY. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Darrick, Sara, Mikayla, Autumn, and Jolene as well as eight great-grandchildren; Dominic, Conner, Nolan, Joseph, Jonathan, Mia, Madex, and Caleb as well as several step- grandchildren, step-great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Seeley is predeceased by two step-sons; Harvey Seeley Jr. and Daniel Seeley, and two step-daughters; Ruth Hilliker and Lane Reinschmidt. She is also predeceased by three brothers; Leland, Israel, and Abram Jr., as well as four sisters; Viola, Stella, Florence, and Emmaline.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm at Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. Gowanda, NY. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 pm from the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
